The Craven Regional Medical Center Foundation is able to provide financial support for unmet healthcare needs to individuals, families, and nonprofit healthcare organizations in Craven, Jones and Pamlico counties. This financial assistance comes through the generous support of individuals, organizations, and corporations, many of whom are also from our tri-county communities. The Foundation has a variety of Opportunities for Giving.
General/Memorial Giving
This is the simplest kind of gift, be it cash, securities or real property. Memorial gifts are a unique way for donors to honor the memory of a loved one, to pay tribute or express appreciation to a special person, or to celebrate a milestone event. The Foundation will recognize the donor and the person honored with an acknowledgement card.
Giving offers income tax benefits and has the added advantage of helping the Foundation sustain its mission to support unmet healthcare needs in our tri-county communities. Download the Memorial Giving brochure here.
Named Funds
Because healthcare needs are constantly changing, donations are applied where the need is greatest. However, if you wish, you may designate your donation to one of the various named funds earmarked to support specific healthcare needs in our communities. Click here to view the Foundation's Named Funds.
Donors can choose to publicly demonstrate their leadership and commitment to a specific cause by naming a fund with a $15,000 gift made with a one-time contribution or made over three to five years. Contact the Foundation office at 252-633-8247 for more information.
How To Make a Donation

Endowment Giving
The Craven Regional Medical Center Foundation's Endowment Fund is an excellent way to make a long-term investment in the Foundation and in the continued health of our communities. An endowment is like a savings account for the future. The principal funds of the endowment are never spent. Only a portion of the interest earnings is used each year to augment annual fundraising revenue and operating support.
Sponsorships
The Craven Regional Medical Center Foundation hosts several special fundraising events throughout the year. Sponsorship of these events is a great source of recognition and visibility. Contact the Foundation office at 252-633-8247 for more information.
– ANNUAL CAMPAIGNS –
Employee Campaign
Each year, during the month of September, the employees of CarolinaEast Medical Center raise significant dollars during the annual Employee Campaign. A steering committee of employees chooses a theme, plans campaign events and recruits a team to canvas each of the Medical Center's 1,500 employees. Employee dollars are used to supplement or fund grant requests. Some employee representatives serve as members of the Foundation's Board of Directors.
Breast Cancer Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Foundation, through the Progress Energy Fund for Women's Health and the Kellum Breast Cancer Awareness Fund, encourages the community to Think Pink! Look for upcoming events during the month, including educational opportunities and screenings. The Foundation has three funds that can assist women with breast cancer: the Craven Pathology Fund for Cancer Care, and the Kellum Breast Cancer Awareness Fund, and Reverend & Mrs. Charles E. Parker, Sr. Memorial Cancer Care Fund.
Festival of Trees
Special holiday events are scheduled around the Festival of Trees. View the event website at http://www.ncfestivaloftrees.com.
